4Sp box gearlever thread

Postby Geoff H on Thu Jun 17, 2010 12:58 pm

Hi Chaps.

I'm after the thread size for the cap that screws down on to the top of the GB coverplate, (the one that holds the gearlever in place.)

I've just refurbed a 2syn, which was a real success, but in the process have found that the internal thread in the steel cap is roughed up (looks like its due to damage from the alignment pin that slides thru the ball, as it appears in two patches opposite each other). Wrecked one cover plate dismantling it, with Aluminium swarf all over the place, so I'd like to avoid damaging the rebuilt box.

Any ideas? It's really fine, so I'd guess at it being a cycle thread, but I could do with better than a guess.

Much obliged.
